What Is Wrecked Pre Workout | Ingredients | What’s Similar | Which Should You Try | Reviews | Warnings And Side Effects | Disclaimer

In this post, we’re tackling a pre workout that’s rising in popularity, Wrecked Pre Workout. This review will go through the ingredients, what you could expect, and compare Wrecked to other popular pre workouts.

*Please note this review is of the newest Wrecked Pre Workout formula available.

Section Divider: What Is Wrecked Pre Workout

What Is Wrecked Pre Workout?

As the name suggests, Wrecked is a pre workout supplements. Pre workouts are supplements formulated for enhancing your workout performance. Often this means increasing energy, supporting blood flow and hydration, boosting focus, and promoting nitric oxide production.†

Likewise Wrecked Pre Workout features ingredients to address each of these factors along with ingredients that can support boosting mood, improve metabolism, and maintain electrolytes.† This pre workout is manufactured by Huge Supplements and is currently retailing for around ~$50USD. In comparison to other popular pre workout, this pre workout is definitely more expensive than what we like to see. In addition to the cost, Wrecked Pre Workout only features 20 servings per tub, which come down to about $2.50 per serving.

Section Divider: Wrecked Pre Workout Ingredients

Wrecked Pre Workout Ingredients:

Although the servings per container and cost of Wrecked Pre Workout don’t meet our preferences, its what’s on the inside that matters most. In this section, we’re briefly discuss each of the ingredients, the dosages, and what role they can play in your gym hits.

Wrecked Pre Workout Supplement Facts

Each serving of Wrecked Pre Workout (one scoop) features 17 ingredients for a total of around 30 grams of active ingredients. If you’re thinking that sounds like a lot, it is. This pre workout isn’t one to try dry-scooping with.

Himalayan Pink Salt:

Our first ingredient is Himalayan Pink Salt. Salt or sodium is a major component in electrolytes, which are lost through processes like sweating. So, it’s possible that including salt to the formula may aid in rehydration and help prevent muscle cramping. However, its not studies assessing various forms of sodium typically use dosages between .2 to .7 grams. Therefore at a dosage of just under .2 grams, there may not be a significant impact on your workout from this ingredient. (1,2,3)

L-Citrulline:

Our next ingredient is very popular in pre workouts and for good reason. L-Citrulline is an amino acid and precursor for another amino acid, L-Arginine. Where L-Arginine is the primary substrate for nitric oxide biosynthesis. Nitric oxide (NO) plays a major role in exercise performance, is an important modulator for blood flow, and essential for mitochondrial respiration. By supplementing L-Citrulline, the body can perform a complex enzymatic reaction and produce NO. This can result in improving blood flow, cognitive function, and high-intensity exercise performance. Generally, research on L-Citrulline uses dosages between 3-6 grams. But, taking more than 6 grams may help promote oxygen content in muscles. In Wrecked Pre Workout, there are 8 grams of L-Citrulline. (4,5,6,7)

Hydromax™:

Next, we have HydroMax™ or glycerol powder. This ingredient is a popular for pre workouts for its effect on aerobic and anaerobic exercise performance. Glycerol has several performance enhancing qualities. For starters, it can be used as an energy substrate, which contributes to the energy yield during exercise. Next, it has osmosis-protective properties, which can help delay muscular fatigue. Lastly, when consumed with sufficient water, glycerol can play a role in maintaining hydration and thermoregulation. (8) Generally, a dose between 2-5 grams is efficient for this ingredient. However, it’s important to note that this ingredient can cause pre workout powders to clump/harden. Therefore, you’ll want to store this product in a cool and dry place.

Beta Alanine:

Following HydroMax™ on the label is beta alanine, which is one of the most popular ingredients in pre workouts. This ingredient is infamous for causing an itchy-tingling sensation with pre workouts (paranesthesia). The clinical dose range for beta alanine is 2-5 grams, so a dosage of 3.5 grams per scoop may be intense for individuals who don’t like that sensation. (9) However, this is an optimal dosage for beta alanine’s effects. This ingredient can help reduce muscle fatigue and improve work capacity by increasing carnosine levels. Carnosine can act as a buffer against muscle acidosis. This action reduces muscle acidity (the burn) during high-intensity exercises, which can help you push further. (10)

Betaine Anhydrous:

Following beta alanine on the label is another endurance aid, betaine, which is set to 3 grams per scoop. Generally, a dosage between 2.5-6 grams is effective. Betaine may support increases in work capacity and power output (though not strength) as well as body composition and reduce fat mass. (11,12)

Malic Acid:

The next ingredient, malic acid, naturally occurs in fruits and vegetables, like apples. This ingredient may help promote energy production in itself. But, is often used with supplements to improve absorption of ingredients (shown as “Malate”)†. There is currently no standard dose of malic acid. (13)

Agmatine Sulfate:

Agmatine is a metabolite of to arginine that acts similar to betaine. Current research suggests it may promote nitric oxide (NO) synthesis better than arginine, as well as properly regulate cellular energy. This makes agmatine sulfate a popular pump-inducing ingredient, but further research is necessary. (14,15) Agmatine Sulfate is typically dosed between 500 to 1,000 mg for exercise performance. There currently isn’t evidence that dosages over 1 gram will be any more efficient or beneficial. So a dose of 1.5 grams as seen in Wrecked Pre Workout meets the standard dosing, but this may also contribute the potential clumping effect.

L-Tyrosine:

Our next ingredient, L-tyrosine, is our first cognition-boosting ingredient. L-tyrosine is an amino acid that is naturally produced in the body. It’s essential for the production of several neurotransmitters; including Dopamine, and hormones; including thyroid hormones. However, increasing your body’s L-tyrosine levels doesn’t necessarily translate to increasing these compounds. Supplementing with L-tyrosine can support boosting alertness, attention, and focus. Tyrosine is commonly taken in doses of 500–2,000mg, so a dosage of 1.5 grams per serving may be sufficient for these properties. (16,17,18,19)

Alpha GPC:

Following tyrosine is another focus ingredient, Alpha GPC. Normally, the dosage of this ingredient is between 300-600mg, which is seen in Wrecked Pre Workout. (20

Lion’s Mane Mushroom Powder:

Our third cognitive boosting ingredient is Lion’s Mane Extract, which may have neuroprotective properties. Additionally, studies show it may improve mental clarity and functioning. While animal studies show it may be beneficial in preventing neuronal damage. (21,22)

Caffeine Anhydrous:

Now, we have the first stimulant in Wrecked Pre Workout, Caffeine. Caffeine is one of the most popular stimulants available. This Central Nervous System (CNS) stimulant can help promote energy, focus, and mood and even support weight loss. (23) But, it’s important to understand where you fall in line with your tolerance to Caffeine to avoid negative side effects like jitteriness. (24) In Wrecked Pre Workout, there are 250mg of Caffeine. This dose is equivalent to almost 3 cups of coffee per scoop. If you’re sensitive to Caffeine, you’ll want to start off with a half of the serving.†

Eria Jarensis Extract (N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine):

N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine is our next ingredient and it’s the compound name for a plant extract we see often in fat burners, Eria Jarensis. This is compound has grown a reputation for its euphoric effects. There isn’t a lot of research done on this ingredient and its effectiveness for exercise performance or energy. However, we often see it dosed between 50mg to 300mg.†

Theobromine:

Following Eria Jarensis is a stimulant similar to caffeine, Theobromine. Theobromine is an alkaloid of Theobroma cacao and serves medicinal purposes as a bronchodilator and vasodilator. Although it has practically no stimulatory effects on the central nervous system, like Caffeine, it may have stimulatory effects on smooth muscle, which contributes to its effects as a vasodilator. (25) Studies utilize a range of doses for theobromine, often between 250mg-1000mg. (26) Here in Wrecked Pre Workout, the dosage is featured at 150mg per scoop.

Di-Caffeine Malate:

Next, we have Di-Caffeine Malate. This ingredient aims to extend energy-boosting properties and reduce the risk of crashing. But, the research on this ingredient is limited.†

S7™:

Next, we have S7™, which features a blend of 7 plants at 75mg per scoop:

  • Green Coffee Bean Extract
  • Green Tea Extract
  • Turmeric Extract
  • Tart Cherry
  • Blueberry
  • Broccoli
  • Kale

This blend may be beneficial for improving nitric oxide production and blood flow.†

Black Pepper Fruit Extract:

Our second to last ingredient is Black Pepper Fruit Extract, which is similar to malic acid. Both these ingredients may help increase the bioavailability of the other ingredients within this formula. But, black pepper extract also may have it’s own thermogenic properties. (27) We typically see this ingredient dosed at 5mg, so one scoop featuring 10mg should be sufficient for the effectiveness of this ingredient.†

Rauwolscine:

Our final ingredient is Rauwolscine, also known as Alpha yohimbine or Rauwolfia Vomitoria. This ingredient may be a stronger version of the popular fat burner ingredient yohimbine.† Where yohimbine is a stimulant and an alpha-2 antagonist, meaning it can stimulates adrenaline and noradrenaline receptors. This action can suppress appetite, improve energy and focus, and mobilize fat. (2829)

How To Take Huge Nutrition Wrecked Pre Workout?

Huge Nutrition recommends taking one (1) scoop with 8-12oz of water. However, new users may want to assess their tolerance with half scoop first.

Section Divider: Similar To Wrecked Pre Workout

Similar To Wrecked Pre Workout:

In this section, we’ll be comparing Wrecked Pre Workout with other popular pre workouts!

Similar to Wrecked Pre Workout

Chemix Pre Workout:

Our first similar pre workout is from Chemix. Chemix Pre Workout features partially disclosed label featuring 9 grams of active ingredients per scoop. In comparison with Wrecked Pre Workout, there is about double the amount of servings in Chemix Pre Workout, if you’re taking one scoop. However, this formula allows for users to go up to two scoop.

Unfortunately, because the majority of the formula is within the Exothermic Energy Amalgam blend, we aren’t able to directly compare these ingredients with Wrecked. Instead, there are only three ingredients we can directly compare scoop for scoop: L-Citrulline, Betaine, and Lion’s Mane Extract. Where Wrecked Pre Workout features a larger dose of all three ingredients for one serving.

Price Per Serving: $1.25
Key Ingredients: L-Citrulline, Betaine Anhydrous, DMAE Bitartrate, Kanna, Caffeine Anhydrous & Citrate
Flavors: Rocket Pop, Blue Razz, Strawberry Watermelon

How To Take Chemix Pre Workout:

The manufacturers recommend taking one (1) scoop with 8-12oz of water 10-15 minutes prior to workout.

Chemix Pre Workout Review By Kelly: “Focus is unreal!! No jitters. Stacked with pump product – fantastic combo.”

AllMax Nutrition Impact Igniter Pre Workout:

Our next comparison is with AllMax Impact Igniter. Impact Igniter features an almost entirely disclosed label with the exception of the Explosive Impact Stim Matrix and Caffeine blend. In comparison to Wrecked Pre Workout, Impact Igniter features about 14 grams less of active ingredients per scoop. But, both pre workouts contain 20 servings per container for one scoop servings.

When comparing ingredients, Impact Igniter shares eight ingredients with Wrecked. However, there is a variation with the L-Citrulline and Malic Acid. Instead of these separate ingredients, Impact Igniter features L-Citrulline Malate. Yet, Wrecked Pre Workout features more milligrams per serving of these ingredients and six other ingredients.

  • Agmatine Sulfate
  • Beta Alanine
  • Alpha GPC
  • Lion’s Mane Mushroom Extract
  • BioPerine

When it comes to energy, Impact Igniter features a Caffeine blend with Natural Caffeine, Caffeine Citrate, and Di-Caffeine malate for a total of 400mg. Whereas Wrecked has 250mg of Caffeine Anhydrous and 100mg of Di-Caffeine Malate. Due to the Caffeine blend, we aren’t able to directly compare these ingredient dosages. Even so, the addition of Caffeine Citrate may make this pre workout a heavier stim-pre than Wrecked.†

Price Per Serving: $1.75
Key Ingredients: L-Citrulline Malate, Agmatine Sulfate, Beta Alanine, Di-Caffeine Malate, Caffeine Citrate, L-Carnitine L-Tartrate
Flavors: Blue Raspberry & Pineapple Mango

How To Take AllMax Nutrition Impact Igniter:

The manufacturers recommend mixing one (1) rounded scoop with 12 to 16oz of water 20-30 minutes before your workout. However, if you are a beginner you may want to start with a 1/2 scoop in 6 to 8oz of water to asses your tolerance.

Impact Igniter Pre Workout Review By Chris: “Good sustained energy through most of my workout. I do take a BCAA with my workout as well. I do HIIT workouts and crush it so I definitely can tell it helps.”

Metabolic Nutrition ESP Extreme Pre Workout:

The next product comparison is with ESP Extreme from Metabolic Nutrition. With a total of 5.5 grams of active ingredients per scoop, ESP Extreme features the lightest volume per scoop of ingredients. However, the manufacturers indicate users with more experience can take up to three scoops. But, using the max scoops for ESP Extreme brings the total servings to around 16 per container.

In comparison to Wrecked Pre Workout, there are eight ingredients shared. At one scoop, Wrecked Pre Workout features more milligrams for all eight ingredients; Sodium, Caffeine Anhydrous, Theobromine, Di-Caffeine Malate, Eria Jarensis, Beta Alanine, and Black Pepper Extract. Whereas if you were to take two or more scoops, ESP Extreme would take the lead.

Price Per Serving: $0.72
Key Ingredients: Caffeine Anhydrous, Di-Caffeine Malate, Choline Bitartrate, Eria Jarensis
Flavors: Green Apple, Fruit Punch, Watermelon, Blue Raspberry, Lemon

How To Take Metabolic Nutrition ESP Extreme:

The manufacturers recommend assessing your tolerance with one serving (1 scoop) mixed with 6oz of water 20-30 minutes before training. After your tolerance has been assessed, you may take two servings (2 level scoops) mixed with 12oz of water. Persons who have a high tolerance of stimulants, may take the maximum dose of three servings (3 level scoops) with 18oz.

Do not exceed three servings (3 scoops) in a 24 hour period, combine with other caffeinated products, or consume as a dry powder, doing so will pose risk of adverse health reaction.

ESP Extreme Review By NA: “One of the best pre workout I’ve taken. Gives sharp focus, low stim, and pushes me to my limit in every workout. I must warn you though, if you are sensitive to caffeine or have stomach issues this is not the pre workout for you as I’ve shared it with a few of my friends and they’ve all felt nauseous or there heart rate wont go down as soon as it would for me. But overall if you are looking for a pre that’ll get you going after a stressful long day at work or out of the laziness vibe this is definitely it!”

Gaspari Nutrition Super Pump Aggression Pre Workout:

Next, we have Super Pump Aggression from Gaspari Nutrition. Super Pump Aggression features a fully disclosed label with around 18 grams of active ingredients per scoop. When comparing this formula to Wrecked Pre Workout, there are 9 ingredients in common.

Of these 9 ingredients, Wrecked has a higher volume of L-Citrulline, Beta Alanine, Betaine Anhydrous, and Black Pepper Extract. Meanwhile, Super Pump Aggression has the same dose or higher for Agmatine Sulfate, L-Tyrosine, Caffeine Anhydrous, Theobromine, and Rauwolfia.

How To Take Gaspari Nutrition Super Pump Aggression Pre Workout:

The manufacturers recommend taking one (1) scoop with 6-8oz of water 20-30 minutes prior to training. Super Pump Aggression should be used on training days only.

Super Pump Aggression Review By Jake: “I have tried many pre workouts that have extreme pumps in the advertisement, but this one by far worked the best for me. Not only are the pumps insane, but the flavors are awesome as well. My personal favorite is Fruit Punch. I would recommend this for anyone looking to improve their pumps during their workouts.”

Alpha Lion Super Human Extreme Pre Workout:

Our final Wrecked Pre Workout comparison is with Alpha Lion Super Human Extreme. Like Super Pump Aggression, Super Human Extreme also features a fully disclosed label and about 18 grams of active ingredients per scoop. However, Super Human Extreme shares 11 ingredients with Wrecked Pre Workout.

Of these 11 ingredients, Wrecked has a higher volume of Sodium, L-Citrulline, Betaine Anhydrous, Malic Acid, and Eria Jarensis. Meanwhile, Super Human Extreme has the same dose or higher for Beta Alanine, Caffeine Anhydrous, Di-Caffeine Malate, S7, Black Pepper Extract, and Rauwolfia.

Super Human Extreme Review By Scott: “A solid pre workout that you can use daily without feeling burned out. Solid motivation and focus and the pumps are super on point.”

Section Divider: Which Should You Try

Which Should You Try:

Finally, in this section we’re comparing each pre workout to find the best option for you and your training style.

Wrecked Pre Workout:

A single serving of Wrecked Pre Workout can be enough to support a high-intensity workout. As it features large doses for performance enhancing ingredient like Citrulline, Beta Alanine, and Betaine, we expect this pre workout to support powerful/heavy lifting days. But, this pre workout also features a lot of Caffeine and other energy/focus ingredients. Because of this, we wouldn’t recommend this pre workout for individuals with a sensitivity to stimulants. †

Chemix Pre Workout:

Next, we  have Chemix Pre Workout, which features a decent blend of pump/endurance ingredients. Yet this pre workout is definitely more of a stimulant-based pre workout. Because of the proprietary blend, we can’t determine the actual content of the stimulants in the blend. These stimulants can also play into boosting focus and mood as well. So if you’re looking for a more focus/stim-oriented pre workout, Chemix Pre Workout is good option.†

AllMax Nutrition Impact Igniter Pre Workout:

Similar to Chemix, Impact Igniter features endurance boosting ingredients along with several stimulants. However, the stimulant in Impact Igniter is may be better for long lasting energy without a crash.  We expect this pre workout to support long workouts for individuals with a medium to high tolerance to stimulants. While this formula features focus enhancing ingredients like Alpha GPC, the dosages are on the lower side. So we wouldn’t recommend this version of Impact Igniter for individuals interested in a strong, focus complex.†

Metabolic Nutrition ESP Extreme Pre Workout

Our next pre workout is ESP Extreme. This pre workout is definitely better suited for individuals looking for energy and focus complexes, instead of endurance/pump complexes. ESP Extreme does not feature ingredients for boosting N.O., but the formula allows for variations with servings. As you can go up to three scoops, this pre workout can be a great option for individuals with a medium to high tolerance to stimulants. But, we would recommend stacking ESP Extreme with a pump product or non-stim pre workout to enhance your workouts further, like PSP. †

Gaspari Nutrition Super Pump Aggression Pre Workout:

We would recommend Super Pump Aggression for individuals looking for a balanced pre workout that features heavy doses of stimulants and endurances boosting ingredients. Although Super Pump Aggression doesn’t feature as many stimulants as other pre workouts, it does feature 400mg of Caffeine per scoop. Additionally, it does feature ingredients for pump/endurance, focus, and mood. †

Alpha Lion Super Human Extreme Pre Workout:

Finally, our last pre workout is Super Human Extreme! This pre workout is a great option for individuals with a high stimulant tolerance. Fortunately, this formula also features classic endurance boosting ingredients, so you won’t be missing out on a pump. However, we would still suggest this pre workout for individuals looking for more of a solid stim-focus pre workout.†
